New trend in learning English

The Government and the Ministry of Education of Japan are speaking about the need to raise the level of English language proficiency. They have already set clear goals to achieve certain levels of language proficiency for different ages.

The decrees of the Ministry of Education state that by 2050 today’s children will live in a global society, in a multinational, multilingual and multicultural environment, where every member of society will need to communicate and make a personal contribution to the international community.

Learning English in kindergarten

The Japanese attach particular importance to education, including the preschool one, since at this age the foundation of the child’s personality is laid; the basis of self-consciousness and worldview are formed.

Most modern teachers in Japan hold the view that the best age to start learning English is 6 months. The child’s brain has already memorized the sounds of the native language, but is still able to master the sounds of the second language.

Japanese educators recommend focusing in early childhood on English songs, such as “Little Bunny Foo Foo“. Songs make it easy to join the natural English language, train the listening recognition. Teachers also use special audio tutorials in English for kids created by native speakers. Then it is recommended to add gradually dances to the songs using game elements. And only then do the elements of communication in English creating situations and an atmosphere for communication.
